The company VUP Medical is following the recommendations of E.H.S, the European Hernia Society. It is an international professional society of physicians and scientists concerned with the study of abdominal hernias and other diseases of the abdominal wall. This organisation highly recommends using a mesh for hernia treatment. When using a mesh, the open or endoscopic technique is effective and practically painless. It allows the patient to resume unrestricted activities soon after the operation.

All together, there were 97 operations carried out – (most of them were hernia operations) in patients of age of 18 months to 73 years.

What we treat?

hernia is the protrusion of an organ or the fascia of an organ through the wall of the cavity that normally contains it. There are different kinds of hernia, each requiring a specific management or treatment. Usually the muscular layer of the abdominal wall is sufficiently strong and rigid to hold the organs in place within the abdominal cavity, but sometimes it is not - in which case there is a hernia. We can also say that a hernia occurs when there is a mismatch between the strength of the abdominal wall and the size of intra-abdominal pressure.
